My Favorite Utilities

Periodically I publish a list of the software utilities I find myself using most often. I have no financial stake in them, make no guarantees about them, and fully understand that there may be competing utilities that do as good or a better job. These are just the ones I use and like.

1Password – Passwords and forms filled out (Mac)

Adium – IM and more (Mac)

Amazon's Media Library - one of the better ways to share what you're reading and listening to

Cliptrak Pro - Manages the clipboard better than anything I've ever seen, but that doesn't come close to all this does.

Evernote – Create (or clip) notes about anything, organize to the extent you want, find them instantly, access via PC, Mac, phone, web. Truly brilliant.

Exam Diff Pro - best I know for examining differences in files and directories.

FinePrint - print pages 2-up and much more.

GoToMyPC - access your pc securely from anywhere. Just great.

Hypersnap DX - My screen capture of choice for many years.

Instant C# / Instant VB [*] I am blown away by how well this product works. Give it a C# program and seconds later you have a VB program.

Live Writer - Best blog authoring software I know of

Pandora - The Music Genome Project. Single best music site on the net, now on phones as well.

RegexBuddy - If you are creating regular expressions, nothing comes close to this utility for getting it right, fast and painless.

Remember the Milk – Task List, Project Organizer – access via PC or Mac or Phone, web, email, twitter, sms, IM, twitter, etc.  Incredible, easy, reliable, nearly perfect.

Trillian – See Adium above, but this is for the PC
