Please improve the gallery submition feedback

 Hi,

I submitted my sample (http://hitchhikershaven.net/BlobMania/) two weeks ago and also sent a mail a week ago asking what happen to it using the http://silverlight.net/blogs/silverlight/contact.aspx page. No feedback what so ever...

As has been mentioned in the post I found today:
"How long does it take until my app appears in Showcase or Gallery?"
http://silverlight.net/forums/t/12821.aspx

...it would be VERY helpful to update the submission page to state how often you approve the submissions, and also send emails when a submission is rejected (or approved!)...

Thanks,

/Tommy

Re: Please improve the gallery submition feedback

Bumping this thread to put a another vote in to improve the submission feedback process. I submitted my application to the Showcase (http://silverlight.interknowlogy.com/photostackr)  a few weeks back and have not heard anything back. I have been checking the showcase every few days and nothing.

How do I know if the submission was accepted or rejected? If it was rejected how do I know what the reasoning was?

Please provide a mechanism for feedback.

Thanks

Another bump. I noticed that new submissions have showed up in the showcase but my app doesn't seem to be included.

I suppose I can assume it was rejected? How do I get a rejection reason?

Hopefully someone will respond here and give some feedback.

Thank you for the feedback.  We do have a work item logged to improve this process.  Hopefully we'll get it rolled out in a few weeks, so that you will get positive or negative feedback regarding your submission.  Regarding BlobMania, I believe I did respond to your support ticket; we approved and published this application several weeks ago.

Hi, your application was denied because it does not seem to work.  I have the page called up in Firefox and the screen is completely blank. As of right now, there's no feedback process, so I am sure it's frustrating to not know what's going on.  As I stated above, we are aware and working on it.  It may take several more weeks to get something pushed out to the site.

I have my app called up in FireFox and the app is working for me.

The initial screen is black and there is a small pusling button in the lower left and a ? button as well that explains how to sue the app. Do you not see those buttons?

Since it has been rejected will I need to re-submit to get it looked at again?

I am sorry, I had a typo.  The screen is *black*.  I am running the latest version of Firefox, on Windows XP, with Silverlight 2 Beta 1.  The screen is completely black, with no pulsing button and no ? button.  The original person reviewing this application saw the same thing.

As such, it will be rejected again.  Which version of Silverlight is this targeted for?

I just rechecked it, and *now* I see the 2 faint 15 pixel high icons on the bottom of the screen.  I *strongly* encourage you to make this UI more intuitive.  It's difficult to discover those faint icons, and it's difficult to determine how to operate this application, even with the help icon.  I'm sure there's a pretty cool application hiding in there.

But it is so Web 2.0 ...... :)

I will update the buttons to be more apparent. Will i need to re-submit for this application to get into the showcase?
