Videos not getting scaled to the the correct aspect ratio in Silverlight

I am using Expression Encoder for encoding anamorphic video content. I am using settings to scale the displayed video to 16:9 upon playback - the source and the encoder WMV files both have resolutions of 720x480.

The displayed video is correctly scaled upon playback to about 852x480 within Windows Media Player (provided I have hardware acceleration turned on). However, the displayed video does not have the correct aspect ratio when played within Silverlight - it retains the 720x480 size.

Is there a fix for this problem?

Re: Videos not getting scaled to the the correct aspect ratio in Silverlight

Could it be that the default Stretch of the MediaElement is stretching in correctly?

Re: Videos not getting scaled to the the correct aspect ratio in Silverlight

Is this something I could set as an Option or is this something that you think needs to be fixed in Silverlight?

I had posted this question originally in the Expression Encoder Forum. Someone from Microsoft had responded stating that this was a problem in Silverlight.
