No matter how Silverlight 2 installation is started (from web download, nor command-line start), it refuses to install on my WinXP Pro SP2 computer with IE7.  There is a brief command window before it quits with no errors, nor messages.  If you need more information from my system, please be detailed with the instructions.

Sorry, no log file by that name or any name with Silverlight in it under %temp% directory tree, nor under a few other temp directories (such as c:\windows\temp, c:\temp, ...).  I also searched my "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>" and also "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users".  No log file for Silverlight.  I am guessing it didn't execute to far into the install program to create the log file (it does disappear quickly).

Any command-line options for the installer that would help?

  I cannot repro it on my side. Have you checked virus? Can you install any other programmes?

I have tried disabling my AV and firewall to no avail.  I have no trouble installing other applications; in fact, I just finished installing two IE7 addons (IE7Pro and FindAsYouType).

I finally found a way to install it successfully by extracting the files from the .exe downloaded and launched the extracted installer app.  apparently something went wrong with the self-extraction and launching.  thanks anyway.
