13Mb video upload fails

I´m trying to upload my Silverlight application that includes a 12.9Mb video, but each time I try to upload I just get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" 10 mins after starting the upload. It seems like the upload is failing for some reason. I have already made a second test with a 2.42Mb video and the upload works perfect.

Is my video too big? I thought 22Mb was the limit.

Thanks,

Julio.

Re: 13Mb video upload fails

How are you uploading the file? Can you use FTP to do the upload with some client like smart FTP?

Thanks

Re: 13Mb video upload fails

I would love to be able to do that, but I thought that the only interface to upload was Silverlight Streaming page. Which is the FTP address and how can I login there?

Thanks,

Julio.

Sorry, I did not realize at first that you are using Windows Live hosting service. I can not find an FTP interface for it. I think your issue may be related to session expiration. Can you try uploading through a faster connection?

Thanks

Re: 13Mb video upload fails

Hi, there are two ways of uploading your video, either manually using the admin web site (http://silverlight.live.com) or programmatically using the API (see reference on http://dev.live.com/silverlight/api.aspx). If you do it manually (which is apparently what you tried so far if I read your original post correctly), there is a timeout set to 15 minutes. It *was* set to 10 minutes up until last night and we upped it by 5 minutes because we had reports of other people hitting the time limit. Please let me know if you still run into the same problem with the higher timeout threshold.

Cheers.

Re: 13Mb video upload fails

Hi,

There is still no way I can upload a 22Mb video, but only 12 or 13Mb max. I have only 135Kbps upload speed, so it might take more than 15 min to finish uploading. I would be really great if this service could math MSN Video capacities, as I can usually upload up to 100Mb videos there without any timeout.

Thanks,

Julio

Re: 13Mb video upload fails

Hi, since the beta release at MIX'08, the max file size has been increased to 105 MB, video file or otherwise.

Cheers.
